アナによる里山ツーリズム 「森のたからさがし 1.0」のレポートが出来上がりました。ぜひご一読ください。

 

滝ヶ原は、森に覆われた丘陵地に囲まれており、村の周りは柔らかな緑の風景が広がっています。豊かな木々の下には、水を運ぶ小川が流れています。下を見たり、後ろを見たり、好奇心を持って大自然の中に入っていけば、美しい宝物が見つかるはずです。

10人の子供たちと一緒に、クミコさんと私（アナ）は宝探しをするために森に入りました。使命は、美しい石を3つずつ集めることでした。一人の子供が尋ねました。どうして、好きなだけ石を取ってはいけないの？
その質問を聞いて、私は数日前の夜のことを思い出しました。私は友人に見守られながら眠りにつきました。

目を閉じる直前に、彼女は私にこう尋ねました。「あなたは今日、与えられた分を、同じだけ返せた？」
私はその日に、与えられた笑顔や受け取った食べ物、コンビニエンスストアの店員からの親切な言葉などを頭の中に浮かべました。私と自然との交換は何だろう？取るものと返すもののバランスを考えて消費すれば、将来の世代も自然の宝を楽しむことができます。子どもたちはそれぞれ、自分のための石、誰かにあげるための石を選び、1日の終わりには、3つ目の石と素晴らしいランチ交換し、カフェでみんな一緒に食べました。

 

Takigahara is surrounded by hills covered with forest that paints a soft green landscape around the village. Hidden below these lush tree crowns are intertwined creeks and streams transporting water from one place to the other. Beautiful treasures are to be found if you look down, behind and enter the wilderness with curiosity.

Together with 10 children Kumiko-San and I (Anna) went into the forest as treasure hunters. The mission was to collect 3 beautiful stones each. One child asked: Why can’t we take as many stones as we like?
The question brought me back to a couple of nights earlier. I fell asleep with a friend by my side. Just before closing our eyes she asked me “Have you given as much as you received today?”

I went through the day in my mind thinking about smiles given, food received and kind words from the convenient store staff. My mind kept wandering on the topic of exchange and landed on the question: What is my exchange with nature? If we consume in a way that balances what is taken and what is given in return, future generations will also be able to enjoy the natural treasures. Each child chose one stone for themselves, one stone to give to someone and at the end of the day we had a wonderful lunch together at the cafe in exchange for the third stone.
